Imperfect Store Branding

The Imperfect Store Rebranding project was a challenging yet exciting 8-month-long project that I had the privilege to work on. The aim of this project was to revitalize an established online store in Hong Kong called WongBaoKee and break into the younger market, selling health-related supplements.

👨‍💻 Creative Process

As the project manager, visual designer, and content strategist, I led the comprehensive rebranding effort, which included the development of a new brand identity from the ground up. This involved crafting a new mission statement, arranging the content, and creating a promotion strategy.

I also developed a complete visual design guideline, which included various social media post demos and a content calendar. To help with the workload, I hired a copywriter to work alongside me. We began by connecting with the client to understand their needs and gather the client brief.

Once we had a clear understanding of the client’s vision, I proposed three visual directions and brand personalities. After receiving the client’s feedback, we locked down the direction and produced a high-fidelity prototype.

During the 8-month-long process, the client was thrilled with the result, and even requested that we also restructure the website and customize the theme of the existing online store. In the end, the store was given a new lease of life, complete with a fresh and modern feel that appealed to the younger target audience.

Overall, this project was a resounding success and a testament to the power of strong collaboration, effective communication, and thoughtful design. It was an honor to be part of such a rewarding project, and I look forward to similar challenges in the future.
